Steven L. Cook, 69, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at home. He was born on September 23, 1953 in Coronado, CA to the late Richard and Margaret (Erichsen) Cook.

Steve joined the United States Navy in 1971 and was an aviation electronics technician. He was an AO instructor from 1976-1979 at NATTC Memphis with the Navy. Steve worked in I.T. after leaving the Navy until his retirement in 2019. His work brought him from Denver to Newburgh in 1993.

Steve was the type of dad who would genuinely get mad if you tried to pick up the check at dinner and would put tires on your car if he felt you were unsafe with the old ones.

He loved Pepsi, chicken wings, and super hero movies, but nothing matched his love for his family.  Steve had a close bond with his only local grandchild, Gavin, with whom he passed along his mischievousness and love of a good prank.

Steve is survived by his wife, Peggy (Lyman) Cook, brother, Rodney Cook, daughter, Kathi (Chris) Cross, son, Steven E. (Marcia) Cook, son, Chad (Jillian) Lyman; Grandchildren, Samantha, Kristopher, Jaden, Austin, and Gavin.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Cook.
