Steven Ray Huntsman

Steven Ray Huntsman 69, of Elberfeld IN passed away peacefully May 21, 2021 surrounded by family. The youngest son of the late Paul Maxie and Emma Jean (Johnston) was born June 12, 1951. Steve was united in marriage to his best friend Brenda Nell Rutt, December 31, 1989, sharing 31 years of marriage.He was a 1969 graduate of Tecumseh high school, studied at UE and was an Ivy Tech graduate. Steve was the owner/operator of Huntsman Auction & Realty since 1980, serving his community and the surrounding area. He was employed for ~20 years at Whirlpool before taking early retirement to expand his business.

His memberships include Indiana, Kentucky & National Auctioneer Assoc. (where he was the 1994 Bid Calling Champion), the Indiana Realtors Assoc., and Indiana Board of Realty, National, Indiana & Warrick Cty. Fee Appraisers, Chamber of Commerce, Who’s Who of Entrepreneurs. He was the Past Master of the Lynnville Masonic Lodge. 

Steve could be found at the ballfield watching his grandkids, fishing or playing golf with his grandsons, taking his fur baby Ted for a golf cart ride, or just sitting outside with a cup of coffee watching the wildlife.

Steve was preceded in Life’s Journey by his parents, brothers Paul Wesley & Lesley Don Huntsman, and a sister Gloria Jean.

Steve is survived by his wife Brenda, daughters Shannon (Aaron) Chenoweth, Angie (Todd) Lillpop, son Jeff (Stephanie) Wicks, and grandchildren Levi, Reece, Ava, Silas, and Skyla who lovingly knew him as “Po Po”.

In lieu of flowers, please give to a local organization or charity in Po’s name, because we all know if locals asked for a donation, he gave.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 10am Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 200 Elm St. Elberfeld IN 47613, (812) 983-4211 with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.  

Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 with a Masonic service at 7pm and, also from 9am till service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
