Thomas W. Walker, 92, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at Brentwood Golden Living. He was born January 3, 1923 in Greenville, TX to J. T. and Julia Ellen (Regan) Walker. He was a graduate of Tidwell High School in Tidwell, TX. He retired from United States Army as a Master Sergeant with the 36th Army, 111th Battalion, Company “C” Combat Engineers. During WWII he received several medals including a Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Five Clusters, for his services in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. He later retired from Airco Carbide in Louisville, KY. Thomas was a faithful, lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed watching football and basketball and he also enjoyed traveling and gardening. Thomas is survived by his wife of 67 years, Myra Lois (Myrick) Walker; son, Thomas W. Walker, II (Linda); grandson, Thomas W. Walker, III (Julie); great-grandchildren, Thomas “Will” Walker, IV, Janie Lois, and Gus Waldon; sisters, Oida Windle and Billie Sue Fleming; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Earl J. and James Walker, Angie Lou McGowan, Elizabeth "Skeet" Rozell, Joann Sutherland, and Johnnie Lee Groves. A special thanks to Brentwood Golden Living, Alzheimer Care Unit, for their loving care and compassion. Services will be held at 10 a.m. CST, Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN 47630 (812) 853-8314. Minister Stephen Rogers will officiate. Burial will be held, with military graveside rites, at 3 p.m. EST at Hardin Memorial Park Cemetery in Elizabethtown, KY. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. CST., Monday, April 20, 2015 and Tuesday 9 a.m. CST, to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Washington Ave. Church of Christ, 4001 Washington Ave. Evansville, IN.
