Victor Alan Luhring

Victor Alan Luhring, 55, of Evansville IN passed away on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at Heritage Center in Evansville, IN.

Victor was born in Evansville IN to his loving parents, Steven and Charlotte Luhring. He attended Haubstadt Grade School, Ft. Branch Community School, North High School/Vocational (tool and die) 1991, Gibson Southern High School (1991), and Mid-City Music course on Sound Engineering. Victor worked as a DJ for R&V Master DJ Service with his friend Roby Leonhardt, playing for local venues with 40’s through 90’s music. He also worked at National Car Rentals, Jim Loehr’s A-1 Auto Service, and American Fabricating Co. in Boonville, IN. He was also a paid extra for the movie “A League of Their Own”. In 1992-1993 he was President of the Ft. Branch Jaycees and in 1993-1994 he was Vice President of the Community Development of the Elberfeld Jaycees.

Besides music, Victor also loved the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, talking with older people and helping others.

On the evening of February 17th, 1997 at the age of 26, Victor was involved in a one-vehicle wreck and sustained a severe brain injury. He spent 51 days at Welborn Hospital and then has spent the last 29 years at Heritage Center. The family would like to thank all of the nurses, CNA’s, and staff for their exemplary care of Vic for the past 29 years. They truly became his family and are so very appreciated for all that they have done.

Victor was preceded in death by his grandparents, Victor H. & Ruth Luhring, Otto & Anna Lee Niethammer; and his father, Steven Luhring. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Luhring; brother Brandon Luhring & Jamie; nephews and niece Kelton Luhring, Ellis Luhring and Isla Luhring; and God-parents Gerald & Janice Besing. 

Vic’s family will have a visitation on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Volkman Chapel 2nd and Elm Sts Elberfeld IN 47613. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., also on Monday May 18th at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Volkman Chapel in Elberfeld. A private graveside service and burial will take place at a later date, at Tabor Cemetery in Haubstadt, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Jerusalem Community Church in Elberfeld, IN; Tabor Cemetery in Haubstadt, IN; or the Heritage Center in Evansville, IN. All services are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes.
