Viola N. Rowland, age 95, of Elberfeld, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021. She was born February 28, 1926 in Posey County, IN to the late Frederick and Valada (Reese) Droege.

Viola was married to Arthur Rowland on April 8, 1944. She was a member of New Jerusalem United Methodist Church, American Legion #351, and former Black Oak Homemaker Club. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her kids, and grandkids. Viola and Arthur had a dairy farm for many years. She enjoyed sitting outside, doing word find puzzles, quilting, playing cards, working jig saw puzzles, being active in church, and spending time with many friends.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Rowland, daughters, Vera Stone, Sharon Black (Gill), siblings, Lucille Pfettscher and Alvin Droege. She is survived by her son, Kevin Rowland, daughters, Donna Spencer (Mike), Sandy Riddle (Dennis), and Janice Ungethiem (Dan). Grandkids; Debbie Mitz (Ken), Wayne Black (Tonya), Donnie Black (Cindy), Lisa Stone, Suzanne Cline, D. Michelle Dycus (Tommy), Greg Riddle (Andrea), Bryan Riddle (Kristin), Jason Allen (Michelle), Jeremy Allen (Amanda), Caleb Spencer, Zac Rowland. Great grandkids, Brittney Miles, Brooke Miles, Stacey Hayden, Chadd Huffman, Craig Huffman, Chris Birdsong, Colton Black, Emily Black, Rayana Black, Blake Miles, Grace Black, Mary Cline, Elizabeth Cline, Bailey Riddle, Alexis Allen, John Cline, Waylon Riddle, Sawyer Riddle, Dylan Riddle and Grayson Allen. Great great grandkids; Cayden, Corbyn, Bryleigh, Roman, Paul, Hensley, Reid, Tobias, sister Edna Mosby, and brother Fred Droege.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at New Jerusalem United Methodist Church 125 1st St. Elberfeld, IN 47613 and visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
