William C. McKinnon Jr, 71, of Newburgh IN, originally of Charleston SC, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Monday, June 9 2025. He was attended by his wife, Carolyn.

William was born on January 3, 1954 in Charleston, South Carolina to his parents William C. Sr. and Onita R. (Jaynes) McKinnon. After graduating high school, William enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and pursued what would become a lifelong, outstanding career protecting national security. In this time, he earned a Bachelor’s degree and started a family with his beloved wife, Carolyn, who traveled around the world with William as he fulfilled his military duties. William achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant, which is the second-highest enlisted rank in the U.S. Air Force; he was also highly decorated in military awards and medals.

William loved spending time with his wife and his golf buddies, traveling golfing and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all.

William was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr and Onita McKinnon. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn McKinnon; stepdaughter, Evonne Sue Manoes; sisters, Vickie M. Walling (Danny), Brenda M. Lamont (Jeff); and brother, Bradford A. McKinnon.

A Funeral Service with full military rites will take place on Friday, June 13th 2025, 1:00 p.m., at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Simpson Chapel in Newburgh, IN. A visitation will also be held in William’s honor, on the same day, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow the Funeral and take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville IN, with full military rights and a rifle volley at graveside.
