William "Bill" Joseph Reine, 90, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on June 9, 2026, at Violet Springs Health Campus in Pickerington, Ohio.

Bill was born in Evansville, Indiana, on April 10, 1936, to Henry J. and Theresia (Koressel) Reine. Growing up on Evansville's west side, he was the youngest of twelve children and attended St. Boniface School and Mater Dei High School. He later attended the University of Evansville and Purdue University, earning a degree in pharmacy. Bill also proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.

Bill began his career as a pharmacist at Reitz Pharmacy on West Franklin Street in Evansville, where he worked for four years before moving to Newburgh in 1964. There, he established Bill Reine's Newburgh Pharmacy, serving the community for 25 years. After selling the pharmacy, he continued his career with Hook's Pharmacy and later CVS until his retirement. Through his dedication and personal care, Bill became a trusted pharmacist and friend to generations of families in the Newburgh area. As the owner of Newburgh Pharmacy, he took pride in knowing his customers by name and caring for multiple generations of local families. His reputation for kindness and genuine interest in others made him a familiar and beloved figure throughout the community.

A devout Catholic, Bill was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh for more than 60 years. All of his children attended St. John School, and Bill faithfully served the parish in many ways, including as a lector and as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, most often, at the 7:00 a.m. Sunday Mass.

On September 12, 1959, Bill married Yvonne Lonier at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Together they built a loving family and shared nearly six decades of marriage until Yvonne's passing on May 15, 2018. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and steady presence touched many lives.

Bill's greatest joys were spending time with family and friends and cheering on his favorite teams. He especially enjoyed attending Castle High School football games, Purdue football games, and University of Evansville Aces basketball games.

Bill is survived by his sons and daughter, Terrence (Lorna) Reine of Pickerington, Ohio; Gregg (the late Maria) Reine of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Michelle (Robert) Coleman of Greenwood, Indiana; grandchildren Jennifer Reine, Alexander Reine, Anya Coleman, and Jack Coleman; and countless nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Violet Springs Health Campus and Hospice for the loving care, kindness, and compassion shown to Bill during his time there.
